Short Video of the Race Start

Just a quick grab with the phone.

Very light wind, though that would soon change. This is the start of Class C, which is the “small” boats. Boats in the larger classes, which can be well over 100 feet long, crossed the line just ahead of us, with all their sails up to catch every bit of wind they could. A beautiful sight.

The nice thing about a start in light airs is all the boats are close together; nerve racking for the captains and crew, but great for the photographers. Got some nice photos and video with the real cameras, which I can’t post until I return, but these phone shots and clips give a tasty sample.
